This will depend on each piece, currently we cast our pieces in either brass or 925 sterling silver. Our casters use recycled Stirling silver, to keep our cost low we currently choose not to have our pieces hallmarked.
Our simple chains are either hallmarked 925 sterling silver or gold vermeil. Vermeil uses sterling silver as its base metal plated with a minimum of 3 microns of gold.
The clasps and findings (wire protectors, jump rings etc.) on our gemstone necklaces are either silver or brass gold plated and we use a mix of Beadalon wires, silks and threads to string our necklaces, depending on what works best for the combination of gemstones, crystals and beads.
Our pearls are fresh water cultured pearls, as pearls are naturally formed, each one is unique, and their lustre and ridges will differ across each one. We work through our supply to pick the best of the bunch to use in our pieces.
If you would like a piece to be gold plated, or have some further questions on the materials we use, we’re happy to discuss with you at hello@tarnishandpearl.co.uk -
Please let us know at hello@tarnishandpearl.co.uk, will follow up with Royal Mail and discuss the options with you.
-
Sometimes these things happen, a jump ring becomes loose, or a clasp gets snagged. We want your pieces to last you a lifetime with regular use and wear, if something has gone awry, please get in touch at hello@tarnishandpearl.co.uk and will discuss the options with you.
-
We really hope you’re happy with your purchase and that your piece will be with you on your adventures. His name is Artemis, or to give him his full name, Artemis Tiberius Arnish - A.T Arnish. As crows often are, he’s rather enamoured with shiny objects and likes to hop around outside the studio keeping an eye out for any treasures he might be able to whisk away when no one is looking.
